Description

The sweet, floral, and tropical fragrance of Mayar is a fruity floral fragrance for women from the house of Lattafa Perfumes. At the beginning of this 2022 fragrance are notes from litchi, violet leaf, and raspberry, while the notes of peony, jasmine, and white rose are distinct at the heart. The notes of vanilla and musk are delightful at the base.

This perfume is “OMG”!!!! Sweet, it smells like grapefruit, and when the air does its job it turns into jasmine with roses and fruit! A perfect combination! I would use it at night because it is a perfume that screams “get out of the way so I can get there” I would definitely buy it again!!!

I’m discovering that this kind of scent is right up my alley. The scent that lingers in the air conjures images of indoor pools, in a good way. With a faint hint of a masculine body spray from the attached locker room….Again, in a good way. It does make it a touch too masculine for my tastes to wear on its own but I’d like to see how/if it changes with maceration. Otherwise I will likely layer it with a fruity floral or something.
The real magic for me happens on the close sniff. It’s GREEN. Almost bitterly so. Super grassy with this very very faint hint of sweetness that just reminds me of dewy lawn and clover clippings. It feels nostalgic, like hot summers in my childhood.
Im an average fruity floral fresh scent enjoyer. Stuff that smells like shower gel from bath and body works. And despite that, I’m really addicted to this smell, I love the lingering aquatic scent in the air and that grassy green scent on the close sniff, and that contrast is so ADDICTIVE. It’s certainly still “safe” as far as today’s perfume market goes but it’s really outside of what I would normally like, much less REALLY REALLY like. And I don’t think that grassy scent will be everyone’s cup of tea, especially if you like traditional and/or feminine scents.
Hopefully it doesn’t lose this cool aquatic to green vibe during the “aging” process.
Again I will stress how unisex leaning masculine this is to me, kind of the nature of clean aquatic scents, and there’s something of an “ocean themed axe body spray” aspect to that lingering scent trail. Yet it doesn’t come off as cheap or nauseating or juvenile! It’s more like an elevated version of that ocean themed body spray.
Overall I’m very impressed and intrigued. Can’t wait to try more from this brand!

I was at my son’s soccer game, and I smelled something amazing. I thought it was my sunglasses (because I keep them in my purse with my travel size perfume, and assumed some scent had rubbed off.) But as time went on, I realized this wasn’t the usual, musky scent of my perfume.
It lingered and lingered and was such a pleasant smell, I started looking around for who it could belong to. Eventually I realized it must be the woman next to me, and I asked her what she was wearing: she was kind enough to tell me.
It arrived today, and I immediately sprayed myself with it. Normally after spraying a perfume, it dissipates within a few minutes. However, this one has LONGEVITY.
It reminds me a bit of a J.Lo perfume I had in 2010- much more fruity than I normally go for, and I usually HATE grapefruit scent. But this is balanced just enough with an exotic, subtle musk. Like a fresh jasmine. Not SUPER warm, but also not too fresh, if that makes sense?
It probably won’t be an every day scent for me, as I don’t feel it matches my personality, but it’s undeniably delicious and bold, without being obnoxious:

I am an older woman whose fragrance hay-day was way back in the 80s and 90s. Back in the days before everyone became phobic about scents in the workplace and the artificial fixers many used began giving many people migraines. Back then I leaned toward Givenchy fragrances after my love for Shishido’s Zen had faded. (I still have my bottles safely kept from those long-ago years!) Enter into my world Amarige and its flankers. To this day, I still love and get compliments when I spritz Amarige, what most now think of as my signature perfume. All this as background to my note preferences as I am an original hippie: I like woods, patchouli, and green mixed with intoxicating white florals way deep in the background. I’m not a sweet fragrance gal. And, when it comes to perfumes, you study and take time to know what works on your skin and personality and what doesn’t. So, I admit when watching reviews how most now consider my preferences Old Lady Smelling, well it broke my heart! That cannot possibly true of all the fragrances now labeled: VINTAGE. So, I can only wonder if it’s more about the individual’s age and fragrance journey maturity?

I’m so surprised, returning to the fragrance world by a few things:
    1) The crazy prices! Not high prices as they used to be back in my days of purchasing, but absolutely stupid pricing! Why do we have so many perfumers pricing their goods out of the average person’s ability to enjoy? For prestige? Ego? Exclusivity? Marketing Stupidity? Who knows, but on the plus side, has given rise to another perfume industry- Quality Dupe perfumers!
    2) What’s with everyone wishing to smell like FOOD?! Sure, some food smells are delicious and can add to a fragrance, things like brown sugar, cinnamon, etc, but I’m sorry, I just don’t care to smell like cherry cola or cake! Along with that, the amount of SWEET in fragrances today? Way too headache producing and cloying to my noise. (I understand to each his or her own, but FOOD, really?)
3)The ridiculous number of fragrances that seem to dry down to powder, especially problematic if one doesn’t wish to smell like a powderpuff! Powder smells old to me and fusty!
    4) The incredible amount of perfumes released in any year is staggering! This leads to overspending, a chaos of choice, and to my mind, can impede one’s fragrance journey which should be highly curated and exacting. If one does this, all those who truly know you, will smell a fragrance and say, “Oh, this really reminds me of (Fill in your name here,)!” You should be searching for the fragrance(s) that always leave Your Mark in the most delicious of ways.

So, reviews have led me to the house of Lattafa for new fragrance to consider. If my Givenchy scents are now too vintage, I think I’ll try a few of these because of their commitment to high end ingredients, good noses that blend them, and at a price that is more than reasonable. Mayar is absolutely a winner for me. Perhaps because it is considered a unisex fragrance, but still leaning feminine, it’s absolutely what I want for our humid, high summer temps. It’s that smell of clean which uplifts and lands with some flower, spice, and a lot of citrus for balance and freshness. This one is a big hit for this old girl! I hope this is one you will also enjoy. Good for daytime and casual evenings. When you need to feel the sea and fresh breezes it brings, put on Mayar and feel the joy of the ocean nearby. Thanks for listening to this Vintage Woman!

Perfume extremamente cheiroso, alta fixação e projeção, nada enjoativo. Podem cobrar sem medo

  8. Me gusto mucho si es muy dulce pero a mi me encanto

This is probably one of the most addictive smells I’ve encountered. It opens up with a a sweet candy like lychee fragrance that dries down to intense rose fragrance but the fruit still stays in the undertone. Lasts all day and is so sexy. I love the bottle how luxurious it looks and the pricing isn’t a break for your value.

  9. Jasmin Imsirovic

Me encantĂł el olor de este perfume. Es muy fresco, dulce y duradero.

  10. SubZera

This was another blind perfume buy that didn’t disappoint!! At first it smelled a little like alcohol, but if you let it sit for like a week or two, it becomes so much sweeter! Lasts on clothes forever. It actually doesn’t fully wash out of clothes!
I think this would be a good gift for anyone who likes very sweet, fruity smells.
